Studs

Most of the females are bred to one of the following studs at Switzer-Land:

The Fonz
Fonz25.JPG (216178 bytes)
Fawn colored 18.4 micron fiber (1 year of age). He has the density, fineness, handle, lock structure, and crimp that we all need to breed for. His grandsire is Peruvian Bueno. At the Calgary 2000 stampede we won his class champion and the overall male reserve champion. He was first in his class at the Alpacafest 2000. Stud fee: $1500. Owned in partnership with Birdsong Ranch.
PPeruvian Monzon

wpe1.jpg (28536 bytes)

Pronounced "mon-zone" with the PP indicating the import from Peru, Monzon has consistently improved the fiber of his offspring. Most of his two hundred plus offspring have retained the beautiful colors of the ancient original type of alpaca. Monzon has beautiful light fawn fiber and was also selected because of his dark coloring around his mouth, eyes, and toe nails. These traits indicated that he would be able to reproduce many of the original colors and patterns of the ancient colored alpaca. Monzon is co-owned by Hance Ranch and Switzer-Land Alpacas. His stud fee is $1500. Owned in partnership with Hance Ranch.
Corona King

wpe4.jpg (20576 bytes)

This is a very unusual appaloosa stud with a white body (with black spots) and a black head. He was imported from Australia in 1992 and we purchased him due to his unusual pattern. He has produced spectacular patterned babies. His stud fee is $1,500.
Acari

wpe6.jpg (26695 bytes)

Acari is a Bolivian alpaca that has a very consistent lustrous white fleece. At an honest two years of age Acari had 22.6 micron fiber across his main fleece! This fineness and uniformity makes his stud fee of $1500 a real bargain.
